I arrived at the studio in Marietta around 8:00 a.m., marking a pivotal point in my career; the first session in the infant stages of building a commercial, mainstream album. After a lot of thought, I've decided to stretch my musical reach in an effort to expand my brand to a more universal audience. Over the years, I've made music that has expressed the tragedy and triumph of my life. I've personalized every lyric and tucked every tune into the passion of my perspective. I have since learned that while singers are story-tellers, the stories we tell don't
always have to be our own. However, I am proud to bring that same
heart that makes me who I am as an artist into my mainstream music efforts with a different backdrop.
This morning, I began recording songs designed to make a visible mark in the music industry. While in our session, I heard a track that immediately gripped me inside - I can't wait until that song is fully born! With a sound so pleasant yet unfamiliar, I could hardly believe it was my own voice in play-back as we reviewed our work for the day. I've officially begun the journey from crawling underground to moon-walking. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because the truth is - I don't know what will happen. As it stands, this is just an effort - a pitch.
Time will tell my story.
