We were probably both barely out of high school when we first played together roughly 12 years ago at a Colorado church service (I was playing organ, he was on keyboards). After what seems like a lifetime of hammering at the music industry, our reunion came yesterday, when L.A. brought him back to Atlanta for some studio work. My head is still spinning after having had the pleasure of working with what has to be one of the most brilliantly talented artists I’ve ever experienced. BARI (www.barimusic.com) and I spent an entire session pointing fingers at each other, oohing and ahhhing over our musical interpretations. Bari is an absolutely breath-snatching, incredibly brilliant musician, singer, songwriter, arranger, singer and producer. This guy is probably the only person I've ever allowed to vocal direct, produce and arrange parts for me while recording for an album. From hearing his interpretation of music years ago, my instincts told me I could trust him to bring out something even better inside of me - and he did just that. I'm going to insist that he finish this album with me - no matter what it takes. When you hear the work we’re about to do, you’re gonna be pleasantly surprised.
